Cath Rolle,  STOTT Pilates Certified Instructor® in Bryanston, Sandton

As a young girl in ballet class, I always preferred the stretching and barrework. As a young artist, I developed a lifelong fascination with the beauty of the human form in movement. Countless hours were spent studying and drawing ballet poses, and admiring the beauty of a ballerina en-pointe. As an adult, I spent years pursuing the kind of strength-training exercise that involved aesthetic, controlled movement.

I didn’t want a quick fad, I wanted an exercise methodology that I could practise into my nineties!

As Joseph Pilates once said,“If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old.  If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.”

Enter Pilates, and I have never looked back. From there it was a natural progression to teaching. For a gregarious person, the prospect of working from home and teaching a subject I am passionate about, I have the perfect balance. I have been teaching Pilates in my garden studio since 2010.
